What this means for you
We buy binders of Japanese cards. They go through a different channel than a normal list. The same applies to Japanese promo cards and sets that only exist in Japanese:
- Japanese cards are bought, but only through an email enquiry to hello@cardbuyer.eu, not through the online form
- Language affects the price, not whether we buy
- If you also have cards in a supported language (e.g. German, English, French), you can submit those through the online form as usual, in parallel
- All seven conditions from MT to PO, as well as all editions and finishes, are accepted
Why language affects the price
Once we see your cards, we use the Cardmarket trend and the lowest current listings in each card’s language, never from an old dataset. Japanese editions therefore often have a price level of their own compared with German or English cards, sometimes above, sometimes below, depending on the card and demand.
Condition, edition, and finish are assessed for Japanese cards just as for any other language: you estimate the condition first, and we inspect it on arrival. There is no fixed buying percentage here either, because it would have to differ by card, print run, and demand.
How to submit Japanese cards
Email us at hello@cardbuyer.eu with the card name, set (if known), quantity, and your condition estimate. A few photos also help us with identification. We usually get back to you within 48 hours with an assessment and the next steps; after that, everything proceeds as with a list from the online form.
There is no minimum number of cards: you can enquire about a single Japanese card just as well as a larger collection, as long as your total offer ends up reaching at least €50.
Shipping and payment work as usual
Once we have agreed on an offer by email, the same process applies to Japanese cards as to any other language: a prepaid, free DHL label, insurance up to €25,000 when packaged correctly according to our instructions, and payment by bank transfer or PayPal within five business days after inspection.
The buyer is named no differently either: who legally buys your cards, Olivier or Julian, we tell you with full name and address before you agree.
Two past purchases
Regardless of card language, the purchase follows the same principle once an offer is in place. Two examples:
- Florian · around 200 cards · €350: in person, paid immediately
- Kai · 46 cards · €360: through CardBuyer.eu, shipping label in under two hours, inspection and payment within two days
